living room "priest bar"
camden, MAINE
2015

During the extensive renovation of this seaside home (see Camden Kitchen Renovation project), the clients decided that their living-room liquor cabinet needed a significant upgrade. Instead of their existing utilitarian storage closet with bottles stored on painted wood shelves, they envisioned a proper bar area with high-end materials and detailing that would impress guests. Squeezed into the same small closet hidden behind double doors, this new bar design (jokingly referred to by the clients as a “priest bar”) was constructed of stained cherry cabinetry, glass shelves, and a countertop and full-height backsplash cut from a kaleidoscopic quartzite named Blue Louise.
